I became a Spartan at Michigan State University in 2006. I completed my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education. After interning for the Michigan State Athletic Department for 2 years I moved into teaching but continue to visit every fall as a football fan.

I began my passion for literacy as a teacher wanting to implement Writer's Workshop inspired by Lucy Calkins. After being trained I was approached to be hired on by the Macomb Intermediate School District to present Writer's Workshop to teachers all over Macomb County. It is one of the best experiences to share this journey with other teachers.

Noah is my 10 year old beagle. If you came into my classroom all my students know all about him. He lived with me throughout college and my career as a teacher.
